1. General

1.1 General definition

An exoskeleton is an articulated, passive or motorized mechanical structure worn by a human subject and designed to interact physically with one or more parts of the body, through a number of interaction ports (attachments) enabling it to act directly in the joint space of the subject's body.

Nota

However, this interaction in the joint space will be more or less controlled depending on the type of exoskeletal structure (in the case of non-anthropomorphic single-contact structures, see section 2.1.1.2
