3. Carousel rinser operation
This type of machine, the most widely used, makes it easy to fit the rinser into a packing block. The container is fed onto the carousel by means of a screw and starwheel, then gripped by a gripper at the neck and turned through 180° (neck downwards) by sliding the container body on a guide, before the nozzle or injector is positioned, penetrating (or not penetrating) the container. After positioning, the injection(s) is (are) performed. After a treatment lasting 8 to 30 s, or longer if several different injection types are used, the containers are turned over again to join the machine's output starwheel.
Nozzles or injectors can be carried by the clamps themselves. Injection pressures range from 2 to 3 bar. Drainage time depends on the amount of residual liquid tolerable for the packaging in question (figure
