2. Diffusion theory: transient and stationary states

Gas transfer through the thickness e of a packaging film (or membrane with two parallel faces) separating two media, or compartments, called upstream and downstream, takes place in the direction of transport (figure 3 ). Transfers are considered here to be unidirectional and perpendicular to the membrane walls.
