INTRODUCTION
Light metal packaging refers to packaging made of steel (tinplate, blackplate and chromium-plated iron) or aluminum with a nominal thickness of 0.49 mm or less.
The range of products packaged in light metal packaging is extensive. The main sectors using this packaging are :
sterilized products ;
beverages ;
dairy products ;
unappetized food products ;
chemical and industrial products: paint, varnish, lubricants, etc. ;
cosmetics, biological products and medicines;

Metal packaging offers many advantages:
good sealing and gas-tightness;
high mechanical resistance to stress and impact;
good compatibility with most products, especially solvents;
stability of materials to ensure good product preservation and organoleptic qualities;
easy and economical recycling, which is a major environmental benefit;
good thermal conductivity (easy heating and cooling);
excellent resistance to internal pressure (aerosol cans);
protection from solar radiation;
good resistance to ionizing radiation.
In addition, the box is an excellent medium for high-quality decorations, using offset printing techniques, and contributes to the brand image of the products contained.
