6. Gilding

Gilding (using a metallic or colored film) is a means of giving a luxurious appearance to texts and drawings, providing a metallic finish that exerts an immediate and striking effect (which ink cannot manage to reproduce).

Sometimes it's the only way to achieve the elegance needed to promote luxury products.

6.1 Hot foil stamping

This operation works on the principle of hot transfer.

Hot foil stamping involves transferring a metallization on a special metallic film (or ribbon) to the surface to be decorated. A heated punch, embossed with the design to be obtained, is applied firmly to the surface, with the interposition of the marking film or ribbon (figure
