2. Process and equipment used

The procedures used to detect leaks in systems containing pressurized fluids are extremely varied, and the choice is not always easy. The starting point is to define the size of the leaks to be detected. The process must be adapted in terms of sensitivity to detect leaks close to the "defective part" declaration threshold, without being too sensitive, which would lead to overquality. Not to mention the fact that, in some cases, we may be faced with major leaks (manufacturing process not respected). So how does an over-sensitive device react?

In pressurized installations, such as certain nuclear facilities for which stringent standards have been set, the common feature is that a test fluid applied to one side of a wall is visible on the other. However, they are highly diverse, with varying degrees of sensitivity.
