2.1 Danger and risk to health and safety at work
To carry out a methodical analysis, it is essential to define the terms used and, in particular, to differentiate between the concepts of hazard and risk, which are often confused in everyday language.
The INRS defines danger as "the intrinsic property of a product, equipment or situation likely to cause damage to the physical or mental integrity of an employee" .
