2. Drilling tests

The CFRP/Al hybrid plates studied consist of a carbon/epoxy composite plate and an aluminum plate. The machined composite plate is a unidirectional sheet with a quasi-isotropic stacking sequence of 16 plies and a thickness of 4.25 mm. The isotropic plate is made from an aluminium alloy used in the aeronautical industry, reference Al 2024 (table 1 ).
