Schematically, all that's required to implement the gas-assisted injection process is a nitrogen source and a pressure regulation system. Contrary to popular belief, this process can be used on all injection molding machines. Whichever gas-assisted injection process is chosen, it can be implemented on any recent injection molding machine.
To ensure a smooth transition between the end of dynamic injection and the start of gas injection, nitrogen pressure must be effective as quickly as possible. Various options are available to achieve this:
electrical information indicating the start of dynamic injection;
a sensor giving the exact position of the screw;
a sensor giving a pressure level.
