4. Properties

The properties of a high-density polyethylene object depend on:

• structural parameters: crystallinity, density, molar mass distribution, comonomer quantity and distribution;

• part design;

• conditions of use;

• operating parameters such as type and duration of stress, and temperature.

The characteristic properties of various HDPEs typical of certain applications are listed in Table 1 .
