4.1 Features of laser welders

Laser welding involves several parameters (Table 1 ) related to the laser beam and focusing system, namely :

  • beam power, expressed in watts (W) ;

  • welding speed, expressed in metres per second (m/s) ;

  • laser cross-section (mm) ;

  • wavelength (nm).
