6. Conclusion

The applications to polymer characterization presented in this article, and the physical basis for their interpretation, testify to the wealth of possibilities offered by the analysis of linear viscoelasticity data for molten polymers. They do not, however, constitute an exhaustive catalog of the method's possibilities or interpretations of the phenomena observed. In any case, mechanical spectrometry applied to viscoelastic fluids is a tool that complements other physico-chemical characterization techniques, and is relatively easy to implement for understanding polymer microstructure.
