The main properties are as follows:

• strength, rigidity and dimensional stability in high-temperature and harsh environments;

• easier to process and lighter than steel, aluminium and titanium;

• low coefficient of friction and high wear resistance without lubrication ;

• chemical resistance ;

• insoluble in ordinary solvents, including acids, salts and oil;

• low bubbling rate;

• low particle production ;

• inherent purity and reduced contamination;

• electrical insulation.
