Explosive Atmosphere (ATEX); explosive atmosphere (ATEX)
A mixture with air, under atmospheric conditions, of flammable substances in the form of gases, vapors, or dust, in which, after ignition, combustion spreads to the entire unburned mixture.
Lower flammability limit (LFL)
Concentration of flammable gas, vapor, or mist in the air below which an explosive gas atmosphere cannot form.
Flash point
The lowest temperature of a liquid at which, under certain standard conditions, the liquid releases vapors in such quantities that a flammable vapor/air mixture can form.
