6. Conclusion and outlook

When studying the behavior of a structure subjected to an explosion, we need to take into account not only the transient nature of this type of loading, but also its low probability of occurrence over the lifetime of the structure. Indeed, a design based on the usual calculation rules not adapted to this specific problem will either result in an oversized structure due to the excessive conservatism introduced by the calculation rules in the best of cases, or in a poorly designed structure if the dynamic effects associated with the explosion have not been properly taken into account.
