4. Application by area

4.1 CE marking of cables

Cables are one of the products listed in the Construction Products Regulation 305/2011/CE. As such, they are covered by a harmonized product standard, NF EN 50575. All products placed on the European market by a manufacturer or importer must bear the CE mark. To date and for fire, only reaction to fire performance is covered (delegated regulation (EU) 2016/364, table 6 ). Fire resistance performance will soon be covered, as the corresponding standards are now quoted in the Official Journal of the European Union (delegated regulation (EU) 2024/1681, table 7 ).
