2. Understand the obligations associated with candidate list registration
The candidate list contains substances identified as SVHC. SVHC substances have hazard properties of high concern, which can have serious and often irreversible effects on humans and/or the environment. Their marketing and use are therefore likely to generate health and/or environmental impacts that need to be understood, anticipated and managed if necessary.
This is why the inclusion of a substance on the candidate list obliges the manufacturer and/or distributor to inform the downstream chain of its hazardous nature. The information required differs according to the use made of the substance. These obligations concern :
the substances themselves ;
their presence in a mixture;
their use in the manufacture of an article.
