1.1 Definitions and general context

The workshop or worksite in which an operator works is a potentially dangerous place, and his or her health or physical integrity may be affected by an accident or occupational illness.

The legislator has laid down the measures to be put in place to eliminate or reduce these risks. It has also defined the circumstances that can be invoked by an employee to benefit from specific compensation relating to his or her professional activity, following an alteration in his or her health.
