4. Analysis procedure for propulsion systems/means

The method for determining scheduled maintenance tasks and their intervals uses a multi-level decision logic diagram.

The proposed logic is based on a technical assessment of each Maintenance Significant Item (MSI). An MSI item is an entity that has been identified by the manufacturer and whose failure may :

  • affect aircraft safety on the ground or in flight;

  • be undetectable during aircraft operation;

  • have a significant operational impact;

  • have significant economic repercussions.
