2. Objectives and organization of MSG-3 maintenance program development

2.1 Objectives

The aim of the MSG-3 standard is to present the means for developing scheduled maintenance tasks and intervals that will be acceptable to regulatory authorities, aircraft operators and manufacturers throughout the aircraft's lifetime. Historically, the initial maintenance program was specified in the various reports of the Maintenance Review Board (MRB), an organization set up specifically to carry out this task.
