In practice, plant biomonitoring methods have the following advantages and limitations.

• Interests :

  • low investment costs and infrastructure (no need for electricity, for example);

  • easy maintenance and follow-up, with low technical requirements (interesting for developing countries, for example);

  • the possibility of multiplying measurement sites (for mapping purposes, for example) with easy redeployment and extension ;

  • low-cost densification of existing physico-chemical sensor networks.
