1. Assess the CMR risk

Once you have identified the CMR agents in your work area, you need to ask yourself the following questions in order to assess the risks:

  • Which workstations are affected?

  • How many employees are exposed at each workstation?

  • How are products handled (brush application, spraying, application to hot surfaces, etc.)?

  • How much is handled?

  • How often, daily, weekly, annually?

  • What are the routes of employee exposure? Inhalation, ingestion, skin?

  • What preventive measures are already in place, such as working in confined spaces, capturing pollutants using localized ventilation at source, or general ventilation of the workshop?
