6. Conclusion

The assessment of MMR failure probabilities is playing an increasingly important role in risk analyses, given the human and economic stakes involved in evaluating the probability of occurrence of hazardous phenomena. Indeed, in the context of PPRT (Plan de Prévention des Risques Technologiques) studies, depending on its probability, and the number, type and probability of MMR failures, a hazardous event may or may not be considered for urban development control. It is therefore necessary to have methods that can be traced over time, so as to be able to transparently assess the probability of failure of the measures needed to guarantee proper risk control.
