5. What training is required for those involved in the transport of dangerous goods?
In accordance with Chapter 1.3 of the ADR, all persons involved in the dangerous goods shipping process must be trained. This training must be :
before taking on responsibility;
recorded and documented ;
adapted to the position ;
renewed or supplemented periodically to take account of changes in regulations (at least every two years, since ADR changes every odd-numbered year)

a general awareness of the regulations governing the transport of dangerous goods;
safety training on the hazards of dangerous goods;
