The answers to question 6 "What can be done to predict or prevent each failure (proactive tasks and intervals between tasks)?" and question 7 "What can be done if a proactive maintenance task does not exist (alternative or default tasks)? "Based on the elements described above, the first part of this section presents the general guiding principles relating to the assumptions for carrying out the analyses, the relationship between the age of equipment and its failures, the applicable and effective tasks, and the notion of their cost-effectiveness. The second part sets out the specific principles relating to maintenance tasks, the characterization of tasks according to their consequences, the description of scheduled tasks, alternatives in the absence of proactive tasks, task selection methods and the monitoring of the initial maintenance program.
