3. Identify specific discharge prohibitions and restricted uses

If your site is classified as an ICPE, direct or indirect groundwater discharge, open-circuit cooling and, in most cases, effluent spreading are prohibited.

The following products are subject to restrictions on use or prohibitions on discharge.

  • Oil discharge ban: article R. 211-60 of the Code de l’environnement .

  • Detergents: Regulation no. 648/2004 of March 31, 2004; Annex V – List of surfactants benefiting from a derogation, Annex VI – List of surfactants whose use in detergents is prohibited or restricted.

  • The sale, use and discharge of certain substances may be regulated by decrees issued by the Conseil d'Etat...
