 INTRODUCTION

Biocatalysis of anodic or cathodic reactions is at the origin of biocorrosion mechanisms and is one of the phenomena feared by users of metallic materials. This biocatalysis can be used positively to increase the rates of electrochemical reactions occurring at the anode and cathode of fuel cells. At a time when fuel cells are the focus of much research to reduce their cost and improve their performance, the use of bacteria in biofilms or the use of enzymes as catalysts are becoming credible alternative solutions and are galvanizing research in France and abroad.
