5. Conclusion - Outlook

RDISK is an original prototype, a 48-node version of which has been developed at IRISA (figure 8 ). Its main feature is its ability to rapidly filter large masses of data, such as genomic databases. Processing is generally relatively simple and regular, and therefore lends itself well to hardware implementation, particularly via reconfigurable architectures.
