PSH (Pumped-Storage Power plant)  ; Station de transfert d’énergie par pompage ( STEP )

Hydraulic energy storage installation that uses two reservoirs at different elevations : water is pumped to the upper reservoir when there is a surplus of electricity, and later released to the lower reservoir through turbines to generate electricity on demand.

Heat Pump  ; Pompe à chaleur ( PAC )

Electro-mechanical device, either electrically or mechanically driven, that transfers heat from a cold source to a hot source, consuming electricity. It is used for heating or cooling purposes.
