6. Conclusion

Producing your own electricity and heat at lower cost can be a major objective for industries that consume these forms of energy.

Many industrialists have tackled this problem and found themselves confronted with questions of interests that diverge from their own, leading them to abandon, at least temporarily, the search for a solution.

The advantages of a gas-turbine cogeneration plant are still valid, however, as they can be summed up in two short phrases:

  • produce cheaper energy;

  • be assured of help in the event of a power cut ;

  • the corollaries being :

    • produce more cheaply and sell more,

    • safeguard its production.
