7. Generator sets

Generators play an essential role in many industries and businesses, as well as in metropolitan emergency centers. The same is true in regions subject to recurrent power cuts (Lebanon, Côte d'Ivoire, Venezuela...), in order to provide sufficient power to areas far from the grid, or in the event of a power failure.

Generator sets now incorporate renewable energy sources such as solar panels, wind turbines and biomass (Jatropha in Yamoussoukro) to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Hybrid generators combine solar power with batteries to store electricity, reducing carbon footprints and operating costs (Clean Hydrogen Partnership).
