 INTRODUCTION

Heavy boilermaking essentially concerns the welded construction of appliances and equipment, with or without pressure, made from thick or heavy sheet metal.

Among the main boiler-made structures are :

  • fixed or semi-fixed land-based vessels and boilers;

  • heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators ;

  • heavy and special boilermaking for the oil, petrochemical, chemical, aerospace and nuclear industries;

  • fixed or semi-fixed, non-transportable, site-mounted tanks for the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and aerospace industries;

  • fixed or semi-fixed tanks for liquids and gases (liquefied or not) under pressure;

  • assemblies or components for onshore and offshore oil exploration.
