3. Aerodynamic stops
The aerodynamic bearing is designed to support an axial load along the Z shaft axis. It can be used either to support a vertical shaft, or to eliminate the axial degree of freedom of a rotor guided by aerodynamic bearings, in which case a double stop is generally provided.
