3. Thermal stresses

When parts assembled with pre-tightening are subjected to significant temperature variations, the stress variations caused either by a difference between the temperature of the bolt T _B and the temperature of the parts T _P   , or by a difference between the linear expansion coefficients of the bolts α _LB and the parts α _LP   , are generally not negligible.
