3. Conclusion

The dynamic study presented in this article is based on a kinematic model of a floating ring with three degrees of freedom. An analysis of the forces exerted on each solid is presented.

In the general case of two floating rings, the equations of dynamics form two systems of three coupled second-order nonlinear differential equations. If one of the rings is rigid, three of these equations disappear. Solving these equations requires iterative numerical methods and therefore does not allow parametric analysis using analytical formulations.

On the other hand, a linear model is described, leading to analytical solutions. However, it is based on limiting assumptions that are often not satisfied in practice, and is the result of extensive theoretical developments.
