2. Gluing

The advantages of bonding are the opposite of the disadvantages of mechanical assembly:

• no weakening of the parts (see figure 1 );

• protection of part edges and fibers, sealing ;

• lightweight assemblies ;

• ability to assemble different materials (metal on composites), very thin parts ;

• excellent fatigue resistance ;

• aesthetic, smooth surfaces ;

• no risk of corrosion ;
