3.1 Slot milling cutters on CNC machines

The development of CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) machines and machining centers has influenced the development and use of slot milling cutters. The need to exploit the full potential of these higher-cost machines per hour has led to the machining of shoulders, grooves, pockets and profiles using processes that often differ from those used with conventional machines.
