1. Bending test

Unlike the destructive tests presented in the previous article [BM 7 792] , which were applicable to base metals and welded assemblies, bend tests are specific to welded assemblies. They can be used to identify the presence of surface or near-surface defects and, in some cases, to assess changes in ductility in the molten zone or in the zone affected by temperature following the welding operation.
