3. Multiphoton stereolithography
Single-photon stereolithography was the first additive manufacturing technology patented in 1984, using a polymerizable resin containing a photochemical initiator with layer-by-layer polymerization. . By being able to electronically excite an initiator with two photons, layer placement is avoided, making it easy to create nanometric but optically transparent objects, if desired.
