5. Conclusion
This article has shown that electrochemically-induced self-assembly can be successfully used to produce mesoporous silica films organized and oriented vertically on the surface of its support, a configuration that is optimal for many applications but difficult to achieve using conventional methods for preparing such deposits. In addition, various functionalization strategies have been proposed (post-synthesis grafting, one-step co-condensation, "click chemistry") with the aim of extending the field of application of these films. Among these approaches, the coupling of electrochemically-induced self-assembly and "click chemistry" appears to be the most promising, since it opens the door to numerous functional groups with dedicated properties, which can be incorporated into the mesoporous film in large quantities, while remaining easily accessible.
