5. Applications for the production of microwave demonstrators
The electromagnetic properties of ferrites are exploited to produce two classes of microwave devices. The first class includes devices such as isolators and circulators, in which the non-reciprocal nature of wave propagation is essential . The second class includes devices such as phase shifters, tunable filters, switches, and variable attenuators, which exploit the variation in the magnetic permeability of ferrites under the action of an external static magnetic field of variable intensity.
The gyromagnetic resonance phenomenon is also used to absorb microwave signals, with potential applications in aircraft stealth and electromagnetic compatibility....
