1. The contribution of the nanoscale to therapeutics

Nanoparticles are classified into four generations. An excellent basis for a better understanding of the different nanoparticles (basic materials, manufacturing methodologies and more detailed description of strategies) is presented in the dossier [NM 4 010] . In this section, these generations will be briefly described in terms of their advantages and disadvantages, before the strategies proposed on the market or in clinical trials are discussed.
