6. ZrSnFeV alloys

The ZrNbSnV family has been less extensively studied. Only two variants, with similar chemical compositions, have been developed and tested under irradiation (table ). They contain a low tin content of ~ 0.5% and Fe~ 0.6% and V~ 0.3%, leading to an Fe/V~2 ratio, as for alloys in the Zircaloy family.

Since these alloys differ from those in the Zircaloys family only in the substitution of Chromium for Vanadium, with precipitates of the same nature, it was easy for manufacturers to transfer all developments from Zircaloys to these alloys in terms of chemical composition and manufacturing range.
