6. Regulatory compliance

The design of KERENA™ is based on the following nuclear codes and standards:

• German regulatory nuclear codes and standards, recommendations of the French Groupe Permanent Réacteurs Nucléaires (GPR), Recommendations of the German Reactor Safety Commission (RSK) for future pressurized water reactor projects, insofar as they are applicable to KERENA™ ;

• International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) guidelines;

• European Electricians' Specifications (EUR): positive conclusions of the EUR compliance review (EUR Volume 3 – KERENA™) published in February 2002;

• Finnish Nuclear Regulatory Requirements set out in the YVL Guides ;

• Nuclear Regulatory Guides of the American Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
