2. Pressurized water reactor

The pressurized water reactor (PWR) became the standard for naval propulsion after a brief confrontation with the sodium-cooled reactor (cf. , § 1.2). With the exception of 3 , this choice has not been called into question, and the REP has confirmed the hopes placed in its simplicity, robustness, performance and compactness.
