1. Applications and power ranges of GENSF units
Space-based fission power generators (SPPGs) are small nuclear power reactors with an output ranging from a few kilowatts to a few megawatts, designed to operate in outer space or on the surface of celestial bodies (such as the Moon or Mars). They therefore harness the energy released by the fission of 235 U nuclei via neutrons, which is then converted into electrical energy.
