4.1 Scenario studies

Specific studies, known as scenario studies, are used to analyze the two main fuel cycle evolution options that 4generation systems could offer: multi-recycling of plutonium alone, and transmutation of minor actinides or americium, in homogeneous or heterogeneous mode. These studies are based on transition scenarios between the current and future French nuclear power plants, described in paragraph 4.2 .
