1. Context

The design of the convection article is very different from that of the conduction article. In the latter case, the entire temperature field must be determined as a function of place and time throughout the solid. This is done in three steps. The general solution of the heat equation is obtained in a first step by analytical or, in most cases, numerical resolutions. In a second step, some of the integration constants are determined by considering the thermal boundary conditions. This is sufficient for stationary conduction (t=0) , the latter case often presenting itself as the asymptotic solution, when time t ® ∞, of a transient solution. When calculating the transient...
