2. Advantages and disadvantages of latent heat storage

To illustrate the advantages of latent heat storage, we can illustrate (figure 1 ) the consumption histogram of an air-conditioning system according to the time of day [25] . Of course, there is virtually no consumption at night, whereas consumption peaks in the afternoon. In figure 2 , night-time storage is envisaged, with daytime de-storage used in conjunction with direct generation. The graph shows that the main advantages are :

  • electricity consumption at night to take advantage of special storage tariffs, and use of destorage at times when electricity is expensive;...
