Surfactant

A surfactant used to modify the surface tension between two surfaces, e.g. to make two phases miscible.

Lyophilic; lyophilique

Chemical element that can promote freeze-drying within a solution.

Lyophobic; lyophobic

Chemical element which is unfavorable to the freeze-drying phenomenon within a solution.

Lyophilization; freeze-drying

Desiccation (removal of water) of a previously frozen product, by sublimation (direct passage of a body from a solid to a gaseous state).
